An aria by the poet Xie Hao of the Northern and Southern Dynasties has become the city card of Nanjing that has been passed down for thousands of years. The ancient capital of the Six Dynasties is full of smoke and rain, and the literati on the banks of the Qinhuai River are windy and moony, and the imperial spirit lingers.
Few cities have been able to bring the old and the new into dialogue so deeply. Thousands of years have passed, and Jinling has gradually disappeared into prosperity.
Project Overview
Nanjing China Merchants Center – Zhenjing – Standing majestically in Xuanwu District, close to Zhongshan Scenic Area and Xuanwu Lake, exuding a unique and new charm.
The site reflection is based on Nanjing’s cultural heritage, combining the characteristics of the modern city with the ancient city of Jinling, and conveying the beauty of the city and the scene experience of seclusion in Jinling with geometric elements.
Design Concept
At the beginning of the eyes, the sense of array and space comes to the face. From a distance, it looks like warm gift boxes lining the wall. As a result, the idea of turning light into a “gift box” came about.
We use light to emphasize the external materials that make up the repetitive forms, to enhance the uniqueness of the building itself, and to highlight the architectural beauty.
At night, the building is presented like a city gift box.
Analysis of the main spatial lighting
At the entrance, simple folded lines highlight the geometric beauty, and openwork panels immerse the building in the twinkling starlight.
Looking up, it is like falling into a sea of gorgeous stars, a little starlight, bringing infinite longing to those who come to find light.
Landscape verandah, the array of orderly lights combined with the waterscape camp to construct a sense of ceremony, looking for light, several springs enrich the state of the waterscape, like the starlight beating.
Viewed from a distance, the combination of different geometric sequences, small squares and small lamps enrich the layers and details of the building façade. The building materials and lighting are in perfect harmony in this space.
Nanjing China Merchants Center Zhenjing. The ingenious combination of corridor and water feature breaks the boundary between landscape and interior in an instant.
The water feature reflects the shadows of the building, the skylight, the starlight and the trees, all in one and shining brightly. The smart and free front-court atmosphere highlights the chic oriental beauty.
And when the evening clouds are retracted, the dark water surface turns into a galaxy in an instant, and the dust of time is like a glimpse in a dream.
Even though time and space flow, this Jinling City is still full of stars, leisurely and safe.
