Project overview：

This project is located in the F02 block of Sanshan New City, Guicheng Street, Nanhai District, Foshan City. The project has a construction area of about 26,000 square meters, six floors above ground and one basement. The indoor functional spaces include but are not limited to: lobby and public transportation corridors, exhibition halls, restaurants, gyms, Functional rooms such as libraries, lecture halls, various art departments, academic departments, and teacher offices.

With the improvement of people’s practicality, comfort and artistry. Educational buildings have transformed from the traditional spatial layout and division mode into an open and diverse academic environment with artistic flavor. More space for free communication has been added to enhance students’ interest in learning and create a better learning atmosphere.

With the reshaping of space, lighting is no longer simply to meet the brightness requirements in the educational environment. The definition of light in the new educational space has been sublimated from simple “activity needs” to “psychological needs”.

Perceive the changing light and feel the atmosphere of space

Using hierarchical and rhythmic lighting, combined with flexible and changeable intelligent control modes, you can perceive the changes of lighting in classrooms, activities, meals, and rest. So as to experience how people-oriented lighting can achieve efficient classrooms, relaxing activities, clean meals, and comfortable rest.

The design integrates different types of lighting fixtures into the building through different arrangements, and controls the lighting scene changes through circadian rhythm changes. Clear and refreshing, bright and clean, it creates a relaxed and happy first space experience for the students.

The entrance lobby uses the entire corridor facade as the medium, lighting as the carrier, and the image LOGO is spread layer by layer. The top and bottom dyed linear lights are used as the base, and the fonts projected by the LOGO lights are superimposed on it, which is unique and colorful and impressive.

The irregular arrangement of strip lamps and the use of strip ambient light break through the monotony of traditional teaching corridors, strengthen the artistic sense and guidance of the space, and help students to interact with each other.

Teaching department-efficient and exciting.

When classrooms, departments, etc. need to stimulate students’ creative imagination, the overall lighting environment chooses a warm white temperature. The brightness of the light environment is appropriately strengthened. In addition, the lighting is divided into different areas, and the brightness and hue of the lighting are appropriately changed to allow the lighting to guide the students’ learning emotions.

Library-the space is diversified and reasonably divided.

The open reading area-the luminous bookshelf constructed by the linear light strips, which are connected into a plane, strengthen the brightness of the vertical surface. Make the light evenly and softly overflow in the open reading area. Sporadic downlight spots replenish the seat surface of the steps. In the open reading area, the light will focus the visual focus on the bookshelf and spill the comfort perception on the stairs. Create a comfortable and easy-to-communicate space environment for readers who are not familiar with each other.

Semi-enclosed reading area-a semi-enclosed reading area enclosed by a curved arch with a shape following the shape. Choose a circular panel light. A sense of tolerance is illuminated in the semi-contained space. Warm and elegant, improve reading experience.

Enclosed reading area-independent accent lighting, long strip panel lights run through the center of the space to illuminate the center of the desktop. Directing the attention of the students to the desktop, the linear lights and downlights on the bookshelf behind the books enhance the overall ambient light and avoid the sense of shadow caused by sitting down.

Gym-relax and comfortable.

The simple ring-shaped hard light bar is like the runway of the sports field, which echoes the fitness equipment on the ground. The super wide-angle light makes the whole gym even and soft. Create a comfortable and relaxing sports environment.

Restaurant-clean and cozy.

The restaurant abandons the traditional large open hall design from the space, and divides the diversified dining environment. It is also decorated with artworks and green plants. The lighting divides the space according to different types of lamps, but the light color is uniform to ensure that the entire restaurant is clean and bright. Accent lighting at the position of the artwork adds comfort.

Light perception：

1. The progress of the era promotes the development and reform of architectural space, indoor space, and landscape space. People’s demand for lighting has also undergone advanced changes.

2. In the change of educational space, lighting pays more attention to the people-oriented concept. Lighting should be sublimated from a single visual perception to a complex physiological perception.

3. Educational lighting, like academics, also needs to be open and diversified. While promoting learning interest and enhancing mutual exchanges, it also needs reasonable lighting configuration to protect the physical and mental health of students.
